Dog Trains Human

A Special Dog-scription

Dog training is really communication training for you both. Your dog loves you and wants to make you happy, but doesn't always know how. Learning to understand a dog's language, emotional needs, and behavioral challenges will give you the building blocks for a true fur-ever friendship.

We use positive reinforcement to enhance and deepen the bond you have with your dog. We help you build trust and understanding on a foundation of respect and love so both you and your dog can feel safe and secure together.

Every dog is unique, and we begin with a consultation to understand more about your fur-friend. After the consultation we're able to prescribe the perfect training plan, whether it's a group workshop or 1-on-1 sessions. We call it a dog-scription.

At Dog Trains Human, We Provide Dog Training Sessions Based on Positive Reinforcement

All dogs respond well to training because training provides a dog with mental stimulation and exercise. Our training sessions are designed around reward based methods that set a dog up for success. Our approach to training, rewards behavior we want from our dogs and is designed to help a dog thrive in any situation. Positive reinforcement training yields results and demonstrates how patience, understanding and respect, can build your relationship with your dog.

Here's What Our Trainees Have To Say

★★★★★ 5/5: Colby B. - Brooklyn, New York
Taryn and her team were referred to us by friends about a year ago and I just want to pay it forward- we cannot recommend BK Cattitude & Street Strutters enough! From the initial 'meet and greet' for our dog, I was impressed with the team's level of communication and professionalism. They asked all the right questions and even accompanied me on one of our walks, just to get a feel for routes, etc. Since then, we've loved the level of communication and ease of scheduling / payment (all online). The highlight of our day is a walk update, complete with pictures and witty report of what went down. Again, we can't recommend Taryn and her team enough :) Evie (our lab) absolutely loves her walks with Alex.
★★★★★ 5/5: OR S. - Brooklyn, New York
I can't say enough about Taryn (and her wonderful walker/sitter Khrystyna). We got our puppy Buffy two weeks before covid hit and a couple months in, she desperately wanted to play and socialize with other dogs but there were no puppy classes or groups open because of covid. Finding Taryn online was the best thing we could have done for our pup. She offered to socialize Buffy with her own dogs and cats safely and responsibly, taking steps to ease all the animals into it with the utmost care. Our first trip away from Buffy this weekend couldn't have happened had it not been for Taryn and Khrystyna who cared for our dog as if she was their own.

Taryn has been guiding us through training Buffy with her separation anxiety (a tough one given the amount of time we've been home these days), and her advice and support has been essential in this process. Buffy loves Taryn so much, she starts speed walking when she realizes we're taking her over and can barely contain her excitement just waiting in the lobby to see her. Taryn is a true animal lover and wonderful human being. We are so grateful for her and recommend her for any and all your doggo needs. She's a godsend.

★★★★★ 5/5: 2020 Review - New York
In these trying times, I would like to give a shout out to our long-time amazing dog trainer / sitter, Sebastian Arias of A Dog's Way, who is now offering virtual training sessions. If you've ever thought about finally breaking some of those bad habits your fur baby has (or maybe working from home has brought issues to light) or if a new baby has created some tensions, Sebastian is an amazing resource and all-around wonderful human being. We have used Sebastian since 2016 to help curb some dog aggression issues our pup developed after our first child was born and to help us navigate two toddlers with a dog. He is patient, kind, knowledgeable and extremely passionate about animals and children.

We also trust him with our pup for dog sitting (prior to the quarantine, of course) and he has been extremely flexible and trustworthy. On top of it all, our kids love Sebastian (and he loves them). I know he would be extremely grateful for any potential extra income in these trying times, so if you are looking for positive dog training, I recommend him.
